What you will learn:
The goal is to get to know the medium of film as a tool for teaching content through theory input and practical tasks. You will acquire the expertise to create cinematic teaching content, effectively conveying subject matter to your students in innovative ways. Additionally, you'll have the knowledge and skills to guide your students in producing their film projects on teaching topics.

Mastering the Fundamentals: Acquire a solid foundation in educational filmmaking, including the best practices, techniques, and approaches tailored to your subject and teaching style.

The Algarve, our picturesque workshop location, provides you with a perfect stage and ample opportunities to realize your first film projects with your own mobile devices during practical tasks. Prerequisites for participation are an interest in film, basic knowledge of digital media, and a willingness to work in groups in a practice-oriented manner.

Individual consultations and an extensive accompanying and cultural program to culturally significant places in the Algarve complete the seminar week.
At the end of the event, you will receive an ERASMUS certificate confirming your participation in the seminar.
The seminar language is English, but the trainer speaks also German and is sensitive to any potential low level of participant’s English language skills.
The seminar lasts 48 hours and consists of theoretical and practical units, as well as a constant exchange of specialist knowledge. In addition to plenary sessions, discussions in small groups and joint workshops, individual working groups will develop and present their own media projects. You will also have plenty of free time outside of the seminar program to enjoy the benefits of the Algarve.

Your trainer, Christoph Lindemann-Sieling is a communication designer and independent filmmaker. Studied Communication Design in Hamburg and Film Foundation Studies at the European Film College in Denmark. He first worked as a web and print designer before becoming an executive partner in film projects at the Moving Image Lab at Leuphana University Lüneburg. Since 2012 he has been an independent filmmaker and founder of the film production network Hausmarke.TV.  He has excellent knowledge in film, web publishing and animation. From 2016-2019 he was a lecturer for commercial production at the Hamburg Academy for Communication Design and since 2020 film lecturer at the Design Factory Hamburg.
